Active ingredients in the spotlight: Tamanu oil

Tamanu oil has been used as a natural remedy for skin diseases in Southeast Asia for centuries. And in this country too, it is increasingly being used in medicinal and beauty care, such as in our Melanin Day day cream.

Natural beauty oil

Tamanu oil is an essential oil that is extracted from the fruits of the Tamanu tree, more specifically from the nuts it contains. The tree is mainly found in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and the Pacific region. The nuts are first sun-dried in a lengthy process before the valuable brown-green oil with its aromatic smell can be extracted from them. The ingredients of the oil have regenerative powers and have therefore been used in Polynesia for centuries to treat a variety of skin diseases.

Healthy and beautiful skin

Tamanu oil is used primarily in the cosmetic sector and in the treatment of skin diseases. It absorbs quickly and is therefore particularly suitable for daily care. The oil is said to have an antibacterial effect and help prevent wounds from becoming infected while at the same time speeding up wound healing. The anti-inflammatory oil can also provide relief for inflamed pimples and acne. Pimples heal much faster when using the oil. Regular use of the oil supports the healing powers of your skin. In addition, the ingredients contained in the oil have an antioxidant effect and work against free radicals. It stimulates collagen production and cell growth, preventing premature aging and wrinkles and giving the skin a smooth and youthful appearance. At the same time they absorb UV radiation. In addition to its healing properties, Tamanu oil also contributes to skin care as it can provide intensive moisture to very dry skin. The oil makes the skin surface more elastic. This ensures less scarring, which is particularly the case with severe acne. Stretch marks can also be counteracted with regular use of Tamanu oil.
